He worked in Amsterdam and The Hague and in London, where he died. Hendrik is known for wooded landscapes, often featuring winding tracks, of which this is a typical example. It can be compared, for example, with A lady on a pathway by a stream, sold Bonham’s, Chester, 4 November 2009 (435).
