Helen Constance Hunter Blair (? c.1864–1948), was the daughter of Sir Edward Hunter Blair of Blairquhan and Dunskey, fourth Baronet, and Elizabeth Wauchope. She married first Captain Johnston Stewart of Physgill on 12 July 1883 and second, Charles Francis Cracroft Jarvis on 6 June 1906. She was the mother of Ralph George Edward Jarvis (1907–1973). The identity of the artist is unknown. The canvas is signed ‘Sydney N’.
