He held the office of justice of the peace, and gained the rank of lieutenant colonel in the service of the 19th Regiment. Jarvis married on 6 June 1906 Helen Constance Hunter Blair, daughter of Sir Edward Hunter Blair of Blairquhan and Dunskey, fourth Baronet, and Elizabeth Wauchope, widow of Captain Johnston Stewart of Physgill. Bobby Jarvis was the father of Ralph George Edward Jarvis (1907–1973). He died on 18 January 1957, North Kesteven, Lincolnshire.
