Andrew Loukes has been House and Collections Manager at Petworth House (National Trust) since 2009. Aside from managing the most important art collection in the care of the National Trust he has also curated critically acclaimed exhibitions at Petworth, including shows exploring the importance of the house to Turner, Constable and Blake. Prior to working for the National Trust, Andrew was a Curator of Fine Art at Manchester Art Gallery for ten years, where he was responsible for British art of the 18th and 19th centuries. Before that he was a Registrar of Prints and Drawings at Tate Britain for three years, working particularly with the Turner Bequest, and in 1999 curated the exhibition Turner in North Wales. He is also a Trustee of Turner’s House, Twickenham, where he recently curated the exhibition Turner and the Thames.
