Helen Wyld is Senior Curator responsible for European Textiles, medieval to 1850, at the National Museum of Scotland. She has a specialism in the history of tapestry in Britain and Europe in the early modern period, and has published extensively in this area. Helen’s other research interests include Jacobite material culture, needlework samplers and the gendering of textile practice, sixteenth-century jewellery and miniature culture, and the use of textiles in sacred contexts.
