Sophie Crichton Stuart is the current chair of Mount Stuart Trust www.mountstuart.com which administers and conserves the house, gardens, collection and estate on the Isle of Bute. She is also the founder and creative director of Mount Stuart’s Contemporary Visual Arts Programme (2001 to present) www.mountstuart.com/arts/visual-arts-programme.

She has a background in cultural affairs and, prior to her involvement with Mount Stuart Trust, was the director of Edinburgh Tapestry Company. She enjoys creative development, project and financial management, strategic thinking, curating and critical writing, and is a believer in life-long education.
